MICHIGAN - The Republican-led Michigan State House of Representatives passed a budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year just before 5 p.m. last night.  The budget passed 59-45.  This comes 56 days after the July 1 deadline.  Negotiations between the House, the Democratic-led Senate and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Michigan) over the final state budget for the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1 are ongoing.  If the House and Senate do not agree on a budget and send it to Whitmer’s desk, the government could shut down Oct. 1.
