ONTONAGON COUNTY - The Agate Falls Scenic Site in Ontonagon County will reopen to visitors on September 4th. The off-road vehicle trail above the falls will remain closed because of construction delays at the trestle bridge. The Michigan DNR is making safety improvements to the 1900 bridge with help from a $1.6 million federal Recreational Trails grant. The delays have pushed back the ORV trail’s planned November 1, 2026, reopening, and a new date will be announced while the trestle remains closed to pedestrians and ORVs.
