UPPER MICHIGAN - Michigan's Supreme Court has ordered state regulators to reconsider their approval of the proposed Line 5 tunnel project, delaying the plan. The court ruled the Michigan Public Service Commission did not fully evaluate the tunnel's environmental impacts after challenges from tribes and environmental groups. Regulators must now conduct a more thorough review, including the risks of continuing to operate the existing Line 5 pipeline and the potential for an oil spill in the Great Lakes.
Enbridge says they are reviewing their legal options.
