IRONWOOD – Strong to severe Thunderstorms pushed through the region late yesterday afternoon and last night triggering severe thunderstorm warnings and even a few tornado warnings.  There were very few problems locally on the Gogebic Range, however some areas in Northern Wisconsin saw strong winds and heavy rain resulting in power outages.  In Iron County areas around Mercer and Winchester west to Butternut lost power for most of the over night with most seeing power restored early this morning with Xcel Energy expecting power to be restored to those affected by 8:00 this morning.  We have not received any reports of any confirmed tornadoes in Northern Wisconsin or the Western U.P. yesterday.
