IRONWOOD - Michigan State Police Wakefield Post releasing information yesterday regarding a traffic stop in Ironwood late last week where police were able to get more meth off the streets. The trooper put on his emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle driver was slow to stop and eventually came to a rolling stop on W. Ayer and King, about 300 feet from the Iron Belle Trail. Investigation turned up methamphetamine in the car and the trooper took 35-year-old Andrew Mills into custody on drug charges in the early hours of Friday morning and lodged at the Gogebic County Jail. He was arraigned later in the day on Friday on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a Park, and Operating with a Revoked Driver’s License. His bond was set at $50,000 with conditions. MSP was assisted by the Ironwood Public Safety Department, Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office, and Iron County Sheriff’s Office.
