IRONWOOD – This week Ironwood city contractors will be performing water line work in the downtown area. This will require a two-block detour along Aurora Street from Suffolk to Lawrence Street. The Contractor will be coordinating with surrounding businesses to keep as much parking open as possible and to limit disruptions to customers and business owners. The detour is expected to be in place through Friday.  Also, as pipe installation is nearing completion on Ridge Street, Jake’s Excavating will begin street removal on East Arch Street (west of Lowell Street) this week. The digging of mainline water and sewer pipes is planned to begin on June15th.  The project will NOT be performing any further work east of Lowell Street on East Arch Street as that section of road is not in the project scope of work. The recent work in this East Arch Street area was done by Xcel Energy due to their need to replace the gas lines.
