VILAS COUNTY - The Vilas County Board of Supervisors, postponed action on a proposal to create a Natural Beauty Advisory Council to guide the future use of Riverside Park and the county fairgrounds in Eagle River. Residents criticized the council’s proposed membership and the use of the term “beautification,” arguing it did not reflect the goal of reimagining the property’s future use. Some speakers also questioned the lack of Eagle River residents on the panel. Supervisors approved the postponement, while at least one supervisor said they believe the proposed advisory committee was well thought out and does not need membership changes.
