ASHLAND - Two arrested following at an Ashland hotel for illegal drugs. On Wednesday officers from the Ashland Police Department were dispatched to the AmerInn in Ashland following a report from a hotel employee who discovered a white rock-like substance inside one of the hotel rooms. The employee suspected the substance to be illegal narcotics and informed officers that the rooms occupants were likely to return. Upon arrival Ashland police detained two individuals in connection with the investigation. Benny Hurst of Brown Deer and Brandon Harris of Milwaukee. A search warrant was obtained for both the hotel room and the vehicle associated with Hurst and Harris. During the search police recovered approximately 67.8 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, 12.4 grams of suspected heroin, and 6 grams of suspected cocaine. Additional evidence consistent with drug distribution was also located at the scene. Charges have been referred to the Ashland County District Attorney's office. Both face charges of possession with intent to deliver meth, heroin and cocaine with Hurst facing an additional bail jumping charge and Harris an additional disorderly conduct charge. Both are in the Ashland County Jail.
