UPPER MICHIGAN –  To make travel a little easier this Memorial Day Weekend the Michigan DOT is Suspending Work on Roadways throughout the state. With the Memorial Day holiday about to begin and travel increasing, starting at 3 today and and through 6 a.m. Tuesday, the 27th, 92 out of 158 state road projects (I, M and US routes) statewide will have lane restrictions removed. While motorists will see suspended operations in most MDOT work zones for the weekend, drivers are advised that equipment and certain traffic configurations may remain in place, like temporary shifts or shoulder closures. If you’re planning to travel, go to michigan.gov for the full list of work zone openings.
