MICHIGAN - Governor Gretchen Whitmer announcing her Saving Michiganders Money Plan, which proposes tax cuts and cost-saving measures for seniors, families, and workers across the state. The plan says it completes the rollback of the retirement tax, proposes property tax relief, continues the increased Working Families Tax Credit, a new sales tax holiday on school supplies, ends state taxes on tips, continues to provide free breakfast and lunch to all 1.4 million public school students and allow every high school graduate to attend community college for free.  The proposals are part of a package the Governor is proposing for the next state budget.  The Governor’s budget recommendation was presented yesterday to a joint session of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees for consideration.
