VILAS COUNTY - The Vilas County Board continues to work to fill vacancies. The county clerk is working to fill the district 5 seat, which covers wards 2 and 7 in Arbor Vitae. Clerk Kim Olkowski says she hopes to have applications from people who’d like to serve in that seat in time for consideration by the county board meeting on the 12th of November. As she’s working to fill that seat, Joe Laux of Eagle River who represents the 18th district, has submitted his resignation effective the 15th of this month. Letters of interest and resumes are being accepted for either seat. They can be sent to Jerry Burkett, Vilas County B0ard of Supervisors, 330 Court Street, in Eagle River.
