N. WISCONSIN - President Donald Trump has announced his endorsement of Rep. Tom Tiffany for Governor of Wisconsin, calling him an “advocate for the Working Men and Women of Wisconsin.” Trump highlighted Tiffany’s efforts to cut taxes, secure the border, champion American energy dominance, and ensure law and order. Tiffany was elected to Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District in 2020, which includes Northern Wisconsin taking over the seat after Sean Duffy resigned. Tiffany has also served in both chambers of the Wisconsin legislature. The congressman is one of two Republicans seeking the GOP nomination, along with Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann. For Democrats, the primary field is crowded, with candidates including Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez, former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. This is the first wide-open race for governor in Wisconsin in 16 years. The primary will be held on August 11, 2026, followed by the general election in November.
