DETROIT (AP) — Former Vice President Kamala Harris is set to campaign in Michigan for Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. The Senate race between El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers is crucial for Democrats. If Democrats hold Michigan's seat, they'd still need to win four more currently held by the GOP to control the 100-member Senate. El-Sayed's progressive platform contrasts with Harris' past moderate positions. Harris’ visit to Michigan also comes as questions swirl about her intentions to run for president in 2028. Harris has not commented on her plans but is also stopping in Nevada and Georgia, two other important states on the political map.
