BESSEMER – On Wednesday Gogebic County jury found 56-year-old Timothy John Christensen from Ironwood guilty on the charges of possession of cocaine and a related charge of use of cocaine which occurred in Bessmer Township in January, 2025 according to Gogebic Prosecuting Attorney, Nicholas Jacobs.  Only one witness was called by the prosecution, Adam Zak, a deputy with the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Dept.  Zak was the arresting officer. The jury reached their verdict under 30 minutes.  Christensen was also charged as a habitual offender which increases the possession charge from a 4-year maximum felony to 6 years imprisonment. The use of cocaine charge is punishable as a 1-year misdemeanor.  Following the convictions Christensen’s bond was revoked and he remains incarcerated pending completion of a presentence report and sentencing
