N. WISCONSIN - Wisconsin's early goose season opens today.  The season runs through Sept. 15 and is available to hunters statewide, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Hunters can take up to five Canada geese per day during the early season, which has an increased daily bag limit compared to the regular season.  The regular goose season opens Sept. 16 in the Northern and Southern Goose Zones.  The 2026 population estimate for Wisconsin-breeding Canada geese is slightly lower than the five-year population estimate.  Goose hunters are reminded that they must carry either an electronic or physical copy of their small game license.
