ROCKLAND - The 2024 Upper Peninsula Veteran of the Year has been announced. Howard Seid of Rockland in Ontonagon County has been the western U.P. representative for the Veteran’s Community Action Team (VCAT) since 2016. Seid has worked tirelessly for veterans in the area, is the vice-chairman of the VCAT Steering Committee, and is responsible for the administration of grant money given to the VCAT. He has worked on projects involving helping a single vet get his needs met and is also actively involved in programs across the U.P. that serve and assist many vets. Howard Seid will be honored at a ceremony at the Upper Peninsula State Fair in Escanaba on the 15th.
