IRONWOOD - The Ironwood City Commission has moved to improve the city’s trail system. The commission approved the purchase of around 23 acres of property on the Beltline Railroad Grade. Community Development Director Tom Bergman recommended the purchase, which will cost around $80,000 and associated costs. The breakout of the purchase comes to $53,418.25 of project funding, $10,000 of budgeted trail development funding, and $16,581.75 of general fund balance. Before the purchase can be made, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources must review it.
