IRONWOOD - Engines roared and fans lined up along the track this past Saturday in Ironwood for the second round in the United States Snowmobile Association’s ProStar Cup Tour races, the Ironwood Snowmobile Olympus. Ironwood has hosted the races since 1968. Brett Richter, representative of the USA Snowmobile Organization said Ironwood is one of the predominant race series and race locations, with competitors signing up to race where some of the greatest names in race history have competed. 115 competitors ran in what is considered one of the biggest and fasted half-mile tracks in the country. The race is a big boost for the local economy, bringing in upwards of $1.5 million into the area each year.
