ASHLAND - Newmark commercial real estate, headquartered in New York City, has been given the exclusive listing to sell Northland College’s 19-building, 100-acre campus in Ashland. Newmark’s Managing Director Bruce Westling will represent the seller. The private liberal arts college, which shut down in May 2025 after 130 years on Lake Superior, offers a 400,000-square-foot campus with diverse, turn-key facilities. Huron Consulting Group, which has higher education expertise will identify strategic academic buyers for the property, like other small colleges, research facilities and religious organizations, and will advise Newmark.
