PARK FALLS - Governor Tony Evers had his planned visit to Chequamegon High School in Park Falls canceled Friday morning due to a man making suicidal threats near the school campus.  On Friday morning the Price County Dispatch Center received a call from a man saying he was having suicidal/homicidal intentions.  Due to this call’s close proximity to the Chequamegon High School campus, the Price County Sheriff’s Office worked with administrative staff at the school and placed the school in a “secure hold” status out of caution while a law enforcement presence was maintained at the school.  At the time of this call, Governor Tony Evers was scheduled to visit the school.  Governor Evers’ visit was subsequently canceled due to the incident. It does not appear that the incident was related to or in response to Governor Evers’ scheduled visit.  The man was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Price County Jail.
