IRONWOOD - Democrat Sen. Elissa Slotkin was in Ironwood yesterday, speaking with and listening to the concerns of elected leaders and students at Gogebic Community College.  Sen. Slotkin says she’s collaborating with U.P. leaders to create more housing in the U.P. that would be a combination of public and private funding and says she’s working on getting more fire trucks and police equipment into U.P. departments.  Slotkin also discussed the need to increase entry level salaries to make living in the U.P. more feasible for young people.  Slotkin saying how impressed she was to see how dedicated leaders and students are to the Ironwood community.
