IRONWOOD - The Ironwood water treatment plant project moves forward. The Ironwood City Commission approved a bid by C.D. Smith Construction of Fond du Lac, to do the work on Phase 2 of the city’s Water Treatment Plant project. C.D. Smith was the only bid at just over $10 million. The City Manager/Engineer said the project, which is 100% grant funded should start in the first quarter of next year. Paul Anderson also said the city is applying for a grant through Delta Dental for $47,000 for a fluoride system for the water treatment plant on direction from the City Commission.
