IRONWOOD - Gogebic Community College reported a 9.8% increase in credit enrollment, reaching 924 students. The Board of Trustees at their meeting on Tuesday approved updated institutional fees for 2025-2026, lowering the blended fee to $18 per credit and adding a $20 distance learning fee per course. Jon Ocker joined as the new electric line technician instructor, facilitating the purchase of a program vehicle for $19,000. Vice Chair Michael McPherson summarized the Michigan Community College Association conference. The board also approved a $1,000,000 line of credit from Gogebic Range Bank with a 5.25% fixed, tax-free interest rate for one year. The Trustees also approved the contract with the Copper Country Intermediate School District to provide instruction for their Teacher Education program on-site at the Copper Country Center.
