LAC DU FLAMBEAU - Lac du Flambeau Tribal police were able to save a homeowner who had fallen during a house fire last night. Just before 7pm, the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center got a call for a fire on Peace Pipe Road in Lac du Flambeau. The caller said they had fallen in the kitchen.  When the police got to the house, they could see fire at the back, and the entire building was filled with smoke. They were able to get the homeowner out, who was sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation. A dog and a cat were also rescued.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
