ASHLAND COUNTY - Attorneys for the Bad River Band and environmental groups will argue today against permits for Enbridge’s 41-mile Line 5 reroute in Ashland County.

The groups say the project could permanently damage wetlands and waterways, pointing to a spill of more than 1,600 gallons of drilling fluid in Iron County. They also argue the pipeline would cross at least 186 waterways and 101 acres of wetlands. Enbridge and project supporters point to an extensive environmental review completed before permits were issued.
