UPPER PENINSULA - The Michigan Supreme Court has expanded who can receive excess money after foreclosure.  The court ruled that anyone whose property was foreclosed upon may claim excess proceeds the municipality made on the sale. Previously, this only applied to owners who experienced a foreclosure in 2020 and after. Now, that opportunity is open to foreclosures before 2020.
