IRONWOOD – New Ironwood Business One of Six in U.P. to Receive Match on Main Funding. Six Upper Peninsula businesses, including Ironwood’s Superior Gales Wine and Spirits, a spirit’s bar and bottle shop coming to downtown Ironwood, co-owned by Stormy Kromer Sales and Marketing Manager Lauren DouBrava, will each receive $25,000 from Michigan’s “Match on Main” program. Governor Whitmer announced the recipients of the program, now in its sixth year, which is managed by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and aims to strengthen downtowns. MEDC’s Michelle Parkkonen praised the U.P.’s strong applications, noting the chosen businesses aligned with local visions. The new business is expected to open this fall in the former White Rabbit Wine Bar building. DouBrava tells MIX 106.9 and OLDIES 102.9 News that she intends to keep her position at Stormy Kromer while running Superior Gales Wine and Spirits.
