IRONWOOD - The basketball court in the Lindquist Center at Gogebic Community College will look different this season. When Coach Dennis Mackey walks the sideline of the court this year, he’ll be walking across his own signature and his signature phrase, as GCC has named the court after him. Mackey has been the coach of the Lady Samsons for 19 years and the men’s team for the last 17. President of GCC Christ Patritto was a Samson and says he couldn’t think of a better person to honor, Mackey has made the college a better place and he’s made the students he worked with better as well. Patritto also said it’s nice to be able to honor Dennis Mackey while he’s still coaching.
