IRONWOOD - Sean Bedard-Parker, new GCC Vice President of Academics, was introduced to the trustees at their Tuesday Meeting.  Sean Bedard-Parker began his duties at GCC last week Monday.  Gogebic Community College also approved advancing Thomas Brown to Emeritus status also acknowledging Brown’s 22 ½ years of service to the college.  Brown served the college as a member of the Board of Trustees from July 1, 2002, until his passing in February of this year. Tom’s wife, Lee, and daughter, Heidi, were in attendance to accept the Emeritus award.  The board also revised the GCC Tobacco policy. This policy addresses the recognition that tobacco-based products cause health risks, and it is the intent of the College to provide a tobacco free environment within its spaces for its faculty, staff, students, and visitors.  The Gogebic Samsons golf tournament will be held on Friday, August 1 beginning at 1pm at the Gogebic Country Club.
