ONTONAGON - The Michigan Trails and Recreation Alliance of Land and the Environment or MI-TRALE has announced a section of Pioneer Trail in Ontonagon County will be closed until further notice. The section that is closed begins at the Ontonagon Fair Grounds and ends at Ridge Road. A detour with a posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour will be put in place. Trail users will head out of the fairgrounds, turn left through Greenland and reconnect with the trail at Ridge Road. The trail is being closed due to poor conditions. No word as to how long the closure will last.
