UPPER MICHIGAN – A $15 minimum wage in Michigan will not go in front of the voters this November.  The Michigan Supreme Court decision is a disappointment for workers’ rights organization One Fair Wage, whose initiative to raise Michigan’s minimum wage to $15 an hour is no longer being left in the hands of voters across the state.  Organizers gathered 300,000 signatures to qualify the proposal but were denied by the Michigan Board of State Canvassers, who accused the group of changing the original language of their petition.  In response, One Fair Wage brought a lawsuit to the State Supreme Court, but justices decided that they would not hear the case, ultimately preventing the proposal from going on the ballot.   The Current Minimum wage in Michigan is $10.33 an hour.
