GILE - Mark your calendars, the Northwoods Land Trust is hosting a Paddling the Gile Flowage event on Sunday, July 13 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. from the boat landing at Gile Park in Montreal. During the paddle, participants will have a chance to investigate plants and animals that live in and along the flowage and learn about some of the geological features of the area. The Northwoods Land Trust is hosting this event during the seventh annual Wisconsin Land Trust Days event series organized by Gathering Waters: Wisconsin’s Alliance for Land Trusts. The event is free and open to the public. Participants should expect to paddle three or more miles and will need to provide their own watercraft, paddles, personal floatation devices, snacks and water. Paddlers must register and can do so by going to northwoodslandtrust.org, clicking on News and Events and signing up.
