UPPER MICHIGAN - Two weeks away from the Fourth of July. AAA of Michigan estimates busier roads and airports than last year.  AAA projects 72.2 million Americans will travel domestically during the travel period, which runs from Saturday, June 28, to Sunday, July 6. That is an increase of 1.7 million from 2024.  As for Michigan, nearly 2.4 million Michiganders will take a road trip, an increase of 59,000 from last year. Total flights are projected to be up 1,000 from a year ago, to 96,000.  More than 160,000 Michiganders will be traveling by bus, train, or by cruise. That is an increase of 11,000 from 2024.
