IRONWOOD - The Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District will end childcare services at the Little Learners Early Childhood Center in Ironwood effective Aug. 14, citing ongoing financial challenges and the loss of a Strong Beginnings Expansion Grant.

Superintendent Dr. Alan Tulppo said the decision followed an extensive review of operations, finances, and long-term sustainability. He called the closure difficult but necessary under the current funding model. The district's state-funded Great Start Readiness Program for 4-year-olds will continue at the Little Learners site without interruption.
