MELLEN - A man from Mellen will now go to trial on charges of possession of child pornography. A series of tips received by the Ashland Police from the Wisconsin Department of Justice and subsequent investigation determined that Justin Sturgal, 26, was in possessions of multiple videos downloaded and depicting child pornography. When confronted, Sturgal admitted to having videos on his phone and to having sent a video to someone in a chatroom on Snapchat. Sturgal’s trial is scheduled to start on December 19th.
