ASHLAND - An Ashland man could be facing more than 240 years in prison for sexual assault after pleading not guilty to five charges in court on Monday. Elijah Fels, 19, is accused of assaulting a child under the age of 13 from 2017 to 2023. He faces four charges of first-degree sexual assault-sexual contact or sexual intercourse with someone under the age of 13, and one strangulation/suffocation charge. First-degree sexual assault is a Class B felony and strangulation/suffocation is a Class H felony. Fels is also accused of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend’s young relative last May.
