ONTONAGON COUNTY - Crews from the Michigan Department of Transportation will perform routine inspections on U.P. bridges, they may require lane closures.  The inspections will take place starting Friday through next Thursday.  Bridges that will be inspected in Ontonagon County include the M-64/M-38 bridge over the Ontonagon River on Saturday, The US-45 bridge over the East Branch of the Ontonagon River on Tuesday, and the M-28 bridge over the Ontonagon River next Wednesday.  The scheduled work is dependent on weather.  The DOT says the inspections help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the bridges.
