IRONWOOD - Personnel was the main topic on the agenda of the Gogebic Community College Board of Trustees regular monthly meeting.  Keith Tuan, of New Hampshire, was approved as the Director of Ski Area Management.  Doug Botkins of Ironwood was approved as the CDL/CMV instructor.  He will begin his duties on August 15th.  Dayle Jackson, of Ironwood, was approved as the Psychology/Sociology instructor.  Jackson has been employed at GCC for the past 20 years and currently serves as the Director of Student Outreach/Engagement, which she will be vacating as she transitions to this new role which begins on August 15. The board authorized administration to post for her current position.  The trustees approved the resignation of David Darrow, Vice President of Academic Services effective June 30, 2024.  In other college news, the lot on US Highway 2 owned by Ruotsala Construction was approved for the college’s Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program for the next year.  Also, the new summer hours at GCC which are from 7:30 am – 4pm Monday – Thursday and closed on Fridays now through August 9, 2024.
