ASHLAND - A trial date has been set for Nathan Monkelien, the Ashland businessman accused of shooting and killing two Hispanic brothers in October of last year. Iron county Circuit Court Judge Anthony Stella denied Monkelien’s request for reduced bail and a signature bond, saying that he poses a considerable flight risk. Monkelien is being held in the Ashland County Jail on a $1 million cash bond. A jury trial is scheduled to begin July 29th and is expected to run through at least August 9th.
