LANSING (AP) - Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed bipartisan legislation that requires insurers to cover treatments for mental health and substance use disorders at the same level as physical health services.  Senate Bill 27, sponsored by state Senator Sarah Anthony (D-Lansing), provides equitable coverage for behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment.  The new law aims to close existing loopholes and ensure that Michigan residents can access the necessary treatments.
