UPPER MICHIGAN - Baraga and L’Anse residents participated in the Copper Shores Bridges Out of Poverty workshop yesterday. The workshop helps inform community members and organizations about ways towards self-sufficiency, including what financial and medical services are available in the area. The aim of the program is to give community members an understanding of how to move themselves ahead, and how to help those who are in need. The Bridges Program has been offered in Ontonagon, Houghton and Keweenaw Counties, and will be offered again in Baraga and L’Anse again in the Fall. Those interested in attending the workshop that starts again August 13 can sign up at coppershores.org/getting-ahead.
