BOULDER JUNCTION - In Boulder Junction, a longtime laundromat is getting a fresh new look and a new owner. Katie Krause recently purchased the business now known as “The Laundry Room,” turning a personal life reset into a new chapter in Wisconsin’s Northwoods. After years in corporate training and caring for her mother during illness, Krause says she was drawn to the area’s sense of community and natural beauty. Krause contacted the Vilas County Economic Development Corporation for guidance, which offered her the services and support needed to get started. She’s now renovating the 24-hour laundromat with cozy seating, Northwoods décor, and plans for expanded services – all while building connections with locals and visitors alike.
