UPPER MICHIGAN - The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) launched a statewide Gun Lock Distribution Map to help residents find free firearm safety devices. The interactive tool marks 150 locations for free cable-style locks, including Department of Health and Human Services offices in all 15 Upper Peninsula counties. Community partners can also use the map to request supplies for local distribution. Provided by the Michigan State Police via Project ChildSafe, the program aims to expand access to safe storage and prevent firearm-related injuries and deaths.
