N. WISCONSIN - Wisconsin's Severe Weather Awareness Week is this week. A statewide tornado drill is scheduled for Thursday, the 16th, at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., but may be postponed if severe weather is forecast. This week is for reviewing and developing severe weather plans. A NOAA weather radio is the best source for watches and warnings. The drill will no longer include an Emergency Alert System (EAS) test, meaning no cellphone alerts, though local sirens may still be tested. Now is the time to practice shelter plans, prepare emergency kits, plan communication, and prepare pets and neighbors. Visit Readywisconsin.wi.gov for more information.
