UPPER MICHIGAN - The Upper Peninsula Construction Council (UPCC), UP Michigan Works!, and local education agencies are taking applications for the 2026 Building Trades Summer Camp. This five-week, hands-on program in Marquette, July 6 through August 5th, introduces high school students to union construction careers. Participants will explore trades, develop skills, gain job site exposure, and earn $14/hour plus a $200 bonus. Students work four hours/day, Monday–Thursday, with Friday field trips. The application deadline is April 30th. Applicants attend resume/interview workshops, followed by interviews. Hired students’ complete financial literacy and mandatory Michigan OSHA safety workshops.
