N. WISCONSIN / U.P. - Thousands of people were without power in Wisconsin and the U.P. after freezing rain and heavy wet snow brought down trees and power lines. Churches, schools and fire halls throughout Wisconsin and the U.P were turned into warming centers as utilities worked to restore electricity.  WE Energy is still showing numerous power outages near Iron River and Crystal Falls into Iron Mountain and Escanaba in the Central U.P. this morning.  Not too many problems here on the Gogebic Range over the weekend.  In Ironwood we picked up a light glaze of Ice accumulation over the weekend and a total of 10 Inches of heavy wet snow.  Yesterday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer activated the State Emergency Operations Center due to a severe ice storm that affected Northern Lower Michigan.
