IRONWOOD - The Michigan Rural Water Association (MRWA) honored Bob Tervonen of the Ironwood Water Department with the 2025 Rolly Olney Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding service in the water industry.  The award recognizes professionals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to public service, both in their communities and within MRWA.  During his time, the city obtained $60 million in water and sewer grants for over $90 million in water and sewer projects.  These projects include replacing over 27 miles of water main, 25 miles of sewer main and replacing 270 defective fire hydrants.  Tervon has served in the role of Ironwood’s utility manager for 31 years.
