ONTONAGON COUNTY - A routine traffic stop in Stannard Township, in Ontonagon County, on Thursday led to the arrest of three men on drug charges and an outstanding warrant, according to the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department. Two occupants, aged 54 and 62, were booked into the county jail for methamphetamine possession, where they remain pending arraignment. A third man, 47, was arrested on an active bench warrant from a nearby county’s Friend of the Court. Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Abuse Task Force (UPSET) were called in to assist with the ongoing investigation. Authorities are withholding the men’s identities and specific details as the investigation is active.
