IRONWOOD - The average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in Michigan has jumped 32 cents since the start of last week. The state average was $3.92, and at the end of last week with drivers in a handful of counties spending more than $4 per gallon, according to data published daily by AAA. The higher prices not affecting the U.P. as much as downstate Michigan. Twelve of the 14 counties with the lowest gas prices in Michigan are in the Upper Peninsula. Ironwood prices this morning at $3.95 a gallon, 28 cents a gallon lower in Hurley at $3.67 a gallon as of this morning, Ashland prices at $3.56, Minocqua at $3.77. In the U.P. prices this morning hovered at or just above $4 a gallon in Bergland, Bruce Crossing and Ontonagon.
