HURLEY — The Hurley Board of Education revising residency requirements for students attending the Hurley School, effective for the beginning of the next school year.  The new rules will require anyone who owns a home in Michigan, or is a split family, where one resident lives in Michigan, needing to prove this is the case on a yearly basis.  Currently, 28 families will receive a letter from the school stating they will need to meet these criteria.  Though open enrollment is allowed, open enrollment across state lines is not due to schools not being able to receive per student funding from another state.
